I have been inspired this time by one of the new products released by Delhaize called "Super food". The new "Super food" gamma of products are addressed to all people who are careful with their diet, or wish to reinforce their organism with vitamins or just like to combine natural good quality ingredients in recipes. Like me. Take a look at your nearest Delhaize super market and discover the "Super Food" collection by choosing the products that suit mostly your nutrition. Try them in salty but in sweet recipes or just use them in a beautiful plate of salad.

Maybe you don't know but I am a fanatic of chocolate. I use it in many of my recipes and believe definitely that once used in a balanced diet, it can give you this positive energy that you need along with raising up your psychology. So I was thinking like... why not combining nature products with my favorite ingredient? This time I am about to present you an alternative idea of mixing my beloved chocolate with the Super Food "Vigour", a real energy mix.

Let's discover the preparation of an Energy chocolate brownie as described below.

For 20 small brownies

Preparation: 10'

Baking: 30'

Waiting before serving: 1h

  • 225 gr of butter

  • 230 grs of chocolate 64%, coarsely chopped

  • 90 grs of milk chocolate, coarsely chopped (in case you wish to avoid milk chocolate add only 320 grs of chocolate 64%)

  • 4 eggs, lightly beaten

  • 170 grs of caster sugar

  • 170 grs of packed brown sugar

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

  • 125 grs of 7 cereals flour (gluten free. Optionally if you wish you could use all purposes flour)

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 100 grs of "Super Food Vigour" Energie Mix (product by Delhaize)

Line a 1 baking pan with heavy foil, extending foil over edges of the pan. Butter the foil; set pan aside. Preheat the oven to 180 C degrees.

In a heavy large saucepan, heat 1 cup butter and the chocolates over low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate is melted and smooth. Set aside to cool slightly. In a medium bowl, stir together eggs, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla. Stir into warm chocolate mixture; cool to room temperature.

In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking powder and salt. Fold flour mixture into chocolate mixture. Spread the batter in the prepared pan.

Sprinkle the mix ingredients over brownie batter in pan.

Bake in a 180 C degrees oven for 30 minutes or until brownies appear shiny, begin to crack on top and appear set. (Do not overbake.) Cool completely in pan on a wire rack; then cut into bars. (For cleaner cuts, you can chill brownies in pan in refrigerator for several hours. Use foil to lift chilled brownies out of pan before cutting.)

Tips:

Combine it with a touch of coconut cream or fresh cream or ice cream.

Ideal for coffee and tea or as a treat in a party.

This particular product is brought to you in a box with 5 X 50gr packs in order to always reserve freshness.

The content of each sachet has basically pecan nuts, raisins, apricots, pineapple and grains. I would recommend you in case you are allergic to one of the ingredients to fully consult the relevant pack.

little kitchen tips

Read very well any recipe.

Make sure that you are familiar with all ingredients mentioned in the recipes.

Always try a recipe twice.

Don't be afraid to combine different flavours. Results are not always successful but you can learn.

Don't be afraid of great chef's recipes. There are sometimes difficult (not always) but with lots of practice the final result is achieved.
