Baci di dama (italian cookies)

These cookies are very easy to make, almost in ten minutes. A great treat for coffee in the afternoon.

150 g all purpose flour

150 g butter at room temperature

100g cornstarch

100g powdered almonds

80 g sugar

1 egg

½ tsp vanilla extract

Melted chocolate of your preference for frosting

Preheat oven to 170 degrees

In a large bowl sift the flour, the corn starch, the sugar and the almond powder together Add the butter and the egg. Knead all ingredients well to homogenize and make a stiff dough.

Make little (even tiny if you like) balls with your hands by pushing a little up and down only to stand still.

Place them on a non stick dish for cookies and bake for 15 minutes only (lightly browned)

Once baked, take them out of the oven and let them cool a little. Dip half a biscuit into the chocolate and stick well onto a dry cookie.

Don't be afraid to combine different flavours. Results are not always successful but you can learn.

 

Don't be afraid of great chef's recipes. There are sometimes difficult (not always) but with lots of practice the final result is achieved.
